The user-mode-linux description isn't very descriptive.. it's just "The Linux Kernel". This should be improved. A better way would be :
"User-Mode Linux is a safe, secure way of running Linux versions and Linux processes. Run buggy software, experiment with new Linux kernels or distributions, and poke around in the internals of Linux, all without risking your main Linux setup."

That's the description from the web-site, maybe you can come up with something better... But polish is very important, and "The linux kernel" for a linux vm just doesn't cut it.

How about "A safe, secure way of running Linux versions and Linux processes in userspace."

I'm thinking about:

"a port of the Linux kernel to its own system call interface. It provides a kind of virtual machine, which runs Linux as a user process under another Linux kernel"

I will make a 2.6 release available in a few days.

I did not made a 2.6 release yet, because linux distros running on a 2.6-UML kernel assume a NPTL system. But NPTL/TLS breaks 2.6-UML.
