sorry. the cryptsetup 1.0.7-1 of the initial bugreport has nothing to do with the crash. (bod copy/paste).

works here. what is your problem? can you paste console output?

The problem seems to be a bad pointer somewhere...
What's interesting: When I run the program with valgrind Kopete works. Maybe there is a race-condition somewhere too (or the bad code was never executed due to some timeout).
The crash is reproducible, so if you need any more information I would be happy to supply it.

the library is loaded, so I don't think the problem is libmsn. can you start kopete with a clean configuration? backup your kopete dir (~/.kde4/share/apps/kopete) and delete it. thanks

i am not sure if it helps but I too have the issue that kopete 0.70.90 on KDE[extra] 4.3.0 crashes. However it crashes with a segmentation fault "just" 75% of the time, sometimes it does connect. I just have one windows live account configured and no others. When I close kopete after it has been online it crashes all the time though with a signal6 and without crash info.

i have the same problem. i'll try downgrading to libmsn-4.0beta6 :(

libmsn-4.0beta8 still makes kopete crash..

maybe the problem is related to kopete build because since I rebuild kopete with debug, it never crashed *gh*
I clean .kde4/share/apps/kopete dir too.
I am using libmsn-beta8.

nope.. just two msn accounts and a jabber account.

a rebuild seems to work fine (no crash in about 15 minutes)

I've removed Kopete using Pacman then removed the .kde4/share/apps/kopete directory. And installed again but it still crashes on login. If I don't login there doesn't seem to be a problem. I'm using one MSN accounts. Here is the backtrack:

Ok, seems that kopete built with libmsn4.0-beta6 doesn't work with -beta8. I am rebuilding kopete.

seems that the update of today with the new kopete build has just fixed the problem. (at least for me)

Thanx, also fixed for me now, couldn't wait for my dutch server to wait so got it from the us directly.. works great.

Somethings unrelated (I apologize) can someone point me in te direction of getting google talk to work in kopete? I know it requires qca-tls but there doesn't seem to but such a package for arch, is there? Thanx.
