Description:
Gnome-system-tools provides the utilities of users-admin, time-admin, network-admin, services-admin, and shares-admin. Currently, at least two of these, when run, are ineffective and unpopulated: users-admin and services-admin (see http://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=73612&p=1). Tinkering (see "Additional info") showed a D-Bus error, so attached is a patch (my first - sorry if it's not done right :-/) for the system-tools-backends package that changes file that is placed in /etc/dbus-1/system.d/system-tools-backends.conf to one that works with Arch's current setup. Note: This also puts into effect the stb-admin group usage right; regular uses won't be blocked from the program but their changes do zilch -- I think. Also, most of the setting I referenced from ubuntu's /etc/dbus-1/system.d/system-tools-backends.conf, and instead of checking all of the programs, I thought two sufficed. Additional info: systems-tools-backends-2.6.0-3; gnome-system-tools-2.22.2-1 Killing all other system-tools-backends processes, and running "system-tools-backends -nd" as root gave the following: http://pastebin.com/m73020814 Compared to desired output (from Ubuntu LiveCD): http://pastebin.com/m50f22f51 [note - that last critical I'm fairly sure is from the LiveCD environment. Steps to reproduce: Install and attempt to use the programs. |
