Details
Description:
The 1.6.0 release of wicd includes new features and new dependencies for them. The curses interface (wicd-curses) is very useful and interesting, but requires python-urwid, which is actually in the community repo. Perhaps pyhton-urwid could be brought to extra and added to depends. The new ioctl experimental, optional backend (allegedly less CPU intensive) requires two python libraries (pythonwpactrl, http://projects.otaku42.de/wiki/PythonWpaCtrl, and python-iwscan, http://projects.otaku42.de/browser/python-iwscan) which are not yet packaged for arch. Perhaps, if someone upload them to a repo or to AUR unsupported, they should be added as optional dependencies. Additional info: * package version(s): 1.6.0 |

FYI: It's in progress...all three libraries will be added to the
[extra] repo soon. I'm testing the functionality at the moment of
the new features and it looks very good.
