Description: /etc/hdparm.conf is missing
From hdparm manual: "FILES /etc/hdparm.conf" But hdparm package won't install this file and after creating it is even not used. I also tried to create /etc/conf.d/hdparm, but this didn't work (is not sourced probably). Additional info: * hdparm 9.12-1 * I tried this config file (my HDD's default value is 128): "command_line { hdparm -B 255 /dev/sda }" |

so use a script in /etc/rc.d/ or add the lines to /etc/rc.local to set your disks.
For example in my rc.local have: /sbin/hdparm -q -M 128 /dev/sd{a,b,c,d}
Unfornately putting hdparm settings into rc.local is not a solution, since after pm-suspend my HDD has it's default value. I also tried hook in /etc/pm as the wiki says, but it didn't work.
I bought my laptop with Ubuntu preinstalled, where the manual for my Laptop recommands using 192 power managment value with hdparm.
In Gentoo this is achieved by /etc/conf.d/hdparm, in Red-Hat based /etc/sysconfig/harddisks and in Debian-based /etc/hdparm.conf as you said.
Therefore I find it shame when such a great distro is missing option for setting hdparm values and we must use some pm-hooks, (that are even not working for some users).
