Description:
Plasma in KDE 4.2 supports google gadgets, meaning you can add any google gadget as a widget in Plasma. This works in Debian with the SVN packages, but in Arch the option to add google gadgets when adding a widget is not present.

Additional comments about closing:  We decided not to include this feature for now. Maybe later if it is really working.

@Andrea: We would need the qt-version of google-gadgets in [extra] to make this work.

It's an optional feature, no? KDE 4.2 _supports_ it - doesn't _need_ it. Too unstable IMHO for official repos. A number of quirks exist in the Qt version, although the GTK+ one works wonderfully.

I gave it a try. But it did not really work (the qt version). I could add new widget but they did not appear on the desktop. Anyway: If I look throught the list of gadgets I don't see anything special about them. Thopusands of clocks and calenders. Nothing you cannot do with plasmoids.
