Details
Description:
Plasma in KDE 4.2 supports google gadgets, meaning you can add any google gadget as a widget in Plasma. This works in Debian with the SVN packages, but in Arch the option to add google gadgets when adding a widget is not present. Additional info: * package version(s): kdebase-workspace 4.2.0-2 kdeplasma-addons 4.2.0-1 * config and/or log files etc. Steps to reproduce: Add a widget to the desktop - only option is to add widgets from kdelook.org |

Reason for closing: Won't implement
Additional comments about closing: We decided not to include this feature for now. Maybe later if it is really working.

@Andrea: We would need the qt-version of google-gadgets in [extra]
to make this work.
It's an optional feature, no? KDE 4.2 _supports_ it - doesn't
_need_ it. Too unstable IMHO for official repos. A number of
quirks exist in the Qt version, although the GTK+ one works
wonderfully.
I gave it a try. But it did not really work (the qt version). I
could add new widget but they did not appear on the desktop.
Anyway: If I look throught the list of gadgets I don't see
anything special about them. Thopusands of clocks and calenders.
Nothing you cannot do with plasmoids.
