A blind user has asked in the italian forum for the
inclusion of brltty (braille display driver) in the
installation cd.
Building the package with ./configure --prefix=/usr --sysconfdir=/etc --mandir=/usr/share/man --disable-i18n --disable-icu --disable-iconv --disable-api --disable-caml-bindings --disable-java-bindings --disable-python-bindings --disable-tcl-bindings --disable-x --disable-gpm || return 1 will result (according to him) in a working package, not so big (about 4 MB) and without any extrernal dependency requirement. Perhaps we could build a "installation only" version of brltty, stripped down as shown above, and include it in the iso. This will give a lot of help for blind users, and lets them install arch on they're own. |
