Details

Description: Can't start samba service. This happened after an update of samba and heimdal (?). Also [smbd] crashed so I had to reboot the system, couldn't kill it with kill -9.

root # /etc/rc.d/samba start
:: Starting Samba Server [BUSY]
/usr/sbin/smbd: error while loading shared libraries: libhx509.so.3: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
/usr/sbin/nmbd: error while loading shared libraries: libhx509.so.3: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
[FAIL]

* samba 3.2.6-1
* heimdal 1.2.1-2

Use latest packages. Not from testing though!

I had to downgrade to:
samba-3.2.5-2-i686.pkg.tar.gz
smbclient-3.2.5-2-i686.pkg.tar.gz
tdb-3.2.5-1-i686.pkg.tar.gz
