Description:

I have an ASUS P5QL motherboard with an Intel Core 2 Duo E5200 processor. When using the 2008.06 Core CD for i686 I get "BUG: Int 14: CR2 ffd41000" right after Booting Kernel right at the bottom of the screen. This did not happen with the 64 bit version however.

I don't know how I'd go about patching a CD's kernel.

It's just a pointer to the solution for this bug. I don't know if this has been fixed in later versions of 2.6.27.x though.

Ahh yes I saw that in a changelog of a recent kernel, one in the 2.6.27 tree, but for some reason I don't get it with the 64 bit CD.

That's because it only affects x86, not x86_64. Can we rollout a new iso with a fixed kernel? This bug breaks installations for i686 on quite some systems, as it's not only limited to the Asus P5Q mainboard.
