Is it X that crashes, or just Openbox that exits? Can you provide some logfiles?

What logs would you like to see.
Comment by Jan de Groot (JGC) - Tuesday, 21 October 2008, 06:39 GMT
The Xorg.0.log and Xorg.0.log.old files from the moment it crashed.

Those pastebin posts have expired. Could you include just Xorg.0.log
as an attachment to this bug tracker? Thanks.

Here you are.

I don't see a backtrace in the Xorg.0.log file you provided. The only differences between your log and mine are that in my logs the keyboard and mouse devices are closed. This could be some logging differences between 1.4.x and 1.5.x though. I would suspect openbox here, not X.

Well thank you very much JGC, and louipc. It is much appreciated.

Could you post any relevant info from ~/.xsession-errors? Grab it in a tty before opening a new X session.

How do you start X? In your logs I can see X starting on tty3. Do you have only 2 getty processes in /etc/inittab?
