I just noticed the italic updates on the main page. I had to scratch my head to figure out those were testing updates. If there's some way we could let people know that info, that'd be nice. Judd was confused by it too.

11:33:39 AM | apeiro: why are some names italicized?
11:35:08 AM | Aaron Griffin: where?
11:35:20 AM | apeiro: on the Recent Updates box, upper right
11:35:50 AM | Aaron Griffin: hmmm good question
11:35:56 AM | Aaron Griffin: testing maybe?
11:36:07 AM | apeiro: ah
11:36:12 AM | Aaron Griffin: yeah, that's testing - I know eclipse and pacman were just put there

We could also just start doing "i686/testing" or, more subtlely, a mouseover/hover tooltip for the repo.

What do you think is best? Do you still prefer the legend idea overall? I feel like it would really be a 1-item legend which seems a little broken.

Hmm a legend is a bad way to explain it. I guess I wasn't looking for a atlas-style legend, but some explanation somewhere. I'm not a designer, so I don't know a good way, but tooltips would be a good start
