I dont think its our problem. Make a PKGBUILD and use it yourself. Additionally address to the developers of the application

Maybe upload it to AUR and see if someone wants to maintain it.

What do you mean? Quanta has always been in Arch, will you stop putting it in there just because it is not in the same tarball as before? I think a lot of people using KDE use this application, so I really think it should be in the repositories and not just in AUR. It is definetely _your_ problem, you cannot ask the user to do the packaging of mainstream packages, this is nothing special and is in fact still part of the KDE suite, only not yet ported to KDE4.

I can understand why you want a quanta plus package. The way i see it Archlinux didnt provide quanta but kdewebdev. If the developers for whatever reason left it out of the package then its not the Archlinux devs problem to deal with. Of course if someone wants to maintain it he will. But in the meantime a PKGBUILD in AUR or for personal use will work best.
BTW seperate quanta packages were last updated in 2003 for KDE 3.0 !

Its not that hard to build; I have put a PKGBUILD into AUR: http://aur.archlinux.org/packages.php?ID=18707

Could anyone give me an *intelligent* reason for maintaining a useless kdewebdev-4.1 instead of a useful kdewebdev-3.5.9, please? I would just like to understand it. Thanks.
