Description: extra/esd 0.2.39-1 locks /dev/dsp in vmware-server and disables sound. Also revoking wav sounds in mail-notification chokes and cuts off the end of the sound.
As keyring doesn't accept new mail-notification, I also have the old mail-notification pkg (4.1-1) in IgnorePkg in pacman.conf. Check corresponding bug report.

Additional info: 1) Downgrading to 0.2.38-3 fixes the vmware-server and mail-notification issues and 2) adding esd to IgnorePkg in pacman.conf.
* package version(s) See above
* config and/or log files etc.

Steps to reproduce: pacman -Syu

same problem with gnome 2.24 and new esd 2.40. /dev/dsp gets locked by esd. Only thing to do is to issue killall esd if I for instance want to use snack.

Trying to build libgnome against esd 2.38 and put esd in IgnorePkg as soon as ftp.gnome.org starts working

Is this fixed with esound 0.2.41?

Did not get sound in amsn-svn to work with new esound. Might be coz of my running amd64 and having snd-hda-intel. Doesn't really matter - I run pidgin on the laptop.

This now works for hda-intel, but not for sbl (emu10k1).

Any way, just close the bug. I can live with amsn not working properly with snack, since amsn and snack are AUR builds.
