Description:
I have to close the lid more than once until it suspends. It's configured to suspend in gnome's power management. i got almost the same problem... for me it doesn't work at all.
acpid recognizes my poweroff button, or when i close the lid, but
it doesn't do anything, despite the fact, that i've set
/etc/acpi/events/lid to "action=suspend" and
/etc/acpi/events/power to "action=hibernate". nothing happens but
a few lines in the log similar to the ones the bug reporter has
already posted.
Did you try pm-suspend and pm-hibernate from pm-utils?
